As WWDC approaches in June, we are learning more about what to expect from iOS 27. A leak today details four features likely anticipated for iOS 27, including Apple Intelligence, Wallet, and more.
iOS 27: Four New Features According to Rumors
These features were discovered in "backend code" by Nicolás Alvarez and were "confirmed" by MacRumors.
Firstly, it is claimed that Apple is working on two new features for Visual Intelligence. Firstly, it is reported that the company has developed the ability to scan a nutrition label and learn more about the contents. This could also have integration with the Apple Health app, as previously reported by Bloomberg.
Visual Intelligence will also add a new feature that allows you to add new people, phone numbers, and addresses to your Browser app. This will work similarly to the ability to add events to your calendar.
In Safari, iOS 27 may add an AI feature that automatically names Tab Groups based on the content of the tabs within a group.
Lastly, the feature that excites me the most in this leak is expected for Apple Wallet. The report states that iOS 27 will add support for converting physical passes into digital passes.
For example, you could scan your gym membership barcode and create a digital version to use in Apple Wallet. This could also work with things like event tickets, reward cards, and more.
This has been a long-awaited feature for Apple Wallet. Third-party apps have been doing this for years, but their success rates have varied. Google added a similar feature to the Google Wallet app in August 2024.
