Last month, Perplexity announced the Personal Computer as a Mac-based personal AI assistant. Today, the company's Perplexity Computer system, inspired by OpenClaw, is being released in a Mac-exclusive version.

‘Secure Editing’ Between Files, Applications, and Browser
More about what the Personal Computer can do from Perplexity below:
The Personal Computer integrates with the Perplexity Mac App for secure editing between your local files, local applications, and your browser.
The Personal Computer can securely connect to any folder to search, read, and write files locally. It can access and work with iMessage, Apple Mail, Calendar, and other local Mac applications.
When set up on a Mac mini, the Personal Computer can run in the background 24/7 across all your applications and files.
Start a task from your iPhone, and the Personal Computer can operate on your desktop and local files using 2FA.
Perplexity Max is the company's monthly subscription plan at $200.
Perplexity Pro, the monthly $20 plan, does not include access to the Personal Computer. However, it supports the web-based version of the AI assistant, known as Perplexity Computer, which has fewer capabilities.
Perplexity also recently launched Comet, which expands the AI browser from Mac to mobile devices for iPhone and iPad.
