Apple has exhausted its inventory of the MacBook Neo for April. The earliest delivery dates for new MacBook Neo orders from Apple are now indicated as May.

The launch of the MacBook Neo resembles a flagship iPhone launch more than a typical Mac release. Despite being over a month since its release, customers continue to purchase the $599 laptop faster than Apple can produce it.

MacBook Neo Inventory Has Been Limited Since Launch

Apple introduced the MacBook Neo on March 4 and opened pre-orders immediately after the announcement. The MacBook Neo hit stores on March 11.

The launch inventory quickly sold out, and Apple fell behind in meeting demand.

The MacBook Neo comes in four colors (silver, pink, orange, and navy) and two configurations (256GB or 512GB with Touch ID).

Every option ordered today shows delivery times between May 1 and May 8.

Where You Can Find MacBook Neo Stock

Shoppers may experience a different experience at Apple retail stores.

As shipping dates continue to slide throughout the month, some configurations have occasionally appeared for in-store pickup.

Meanwhile, Amazon promises MacBook Neo stock starting April 21, with a lowest price guarantee of $589.99 for 30 days.

The upgraded storage model with Touch ID is $10 cheaper than Apple's price for some models, which are promised on April 22.

Walmart also has MacBook Neo inventory, with overnight shipping available for the silver model, while the navy color will ship in just two days.

After the launch of the MacBook Neo, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that it was the "best launch week for customers buying a Mac for the first time."

As new Mac customers continue to purchase MacBook Neos faster than Apple can produce them, Apple's most affordable laptop has certainly become a big hit.
