iOS 26.4 has changed the location of app updates in the App Store. However, there is a shortcut available to access them just as quickly as before.

The Home Screen Offers Quick Access to the App Store's 'Updates' Screen

Most iPhone users don’t bother checking the details of app updates in the App Store.

However, if you are like me and reviewing the latest updates has become a regular habit, you may notice that iOS 26.4 has made a change you won't like.

In previous iOS 26 versions, you could open the App Store and tap on your profile picture in the top right to see the list of new app updates.

You still go to the same place in iOS 26.4, but there is an extra step: tapping the new 'Updates' menu option.

One more tap isn’t a huge issue, but if you check app updates frequently, this can definitely be annoying.

However, there is a shortcut that iOS has long supported and still supports; to access the Updates screen faster than ever.

On your iPhone (or iPad), you can find the 'Updates' option in the menu that appears when you long press the App Store icon.

Tapping 'Updates' opens the app and takes you directly to the Updates screen. Quick, simple, and convenient.

Therefore, if you are bothered by iOS 26.4 embedding App Store updates a bit more, I definitely recommend getting into the habit of using the long-press icon shortcut.
