There are many Find My accessories available on the market with various designs and form factors. Here are some of the most popular options.

Just to remind you, Find My accessories emit a low-energy Bluetooth signal detected by nearby Apple devices. They do not rely on GPS technology.

Instead, location information is securely and privately transmitted to the Find My network. This means that your Find My-enabled item can be located even if you are miles away, as long as someone with an Apple device is nearby.

Apple continues to add new features to the Find My network, such as a new system for sharing item locations.

AirTag 2

It is impossible to compile a list of the best Find My accessories without including Apple’s AirTags, especially now with AirTag 2. Apple announced AirTag 2 earlier this year, and it now comes with a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip.

AirTag 2 offers many updates:

  • Precision Finding now works 1.5 times farther than AirTag 1.
  • Improved Bluetooth chip that extends the findable range.
  • Speaker that is 50% louder than the original.

AirTags have some shortcomings as they are only available in a single form factor, lack a built-in attachment mechanism, and are nearly four years old. Still, they are considered the best way to get started with the Find My ecosystem.

Chipolo’s Find My Ecosystem

While Apple’s AirTag is available in a single form factor, Chipolo produces several different tracking devices that are fully compatible with Apple’s Find My ecosystem. This means you can add them to the Find My app and track them alongside your Apple products.

Additionally, they can access the Find My ecosystem to share the most up-to-date location information using Apple devices and AirTags.

SwitchBot Wallet Finder

My colleague Benjamin Mayo reviewed the SwitchBot Wallet Finder and described it as “an extremely handy accessory for tracking your wallet.” Besides being designed in the shape of a credit card to slide into your wallet, it also includes a built-in keyring holder. This makes it easier to attach to a lanyard or backpack.

Pebblebee’s Find My Ecosystem

Another popular brand for Find My accessories is Pebblebee.

Pebblebee Clip is a small tracking device similar to the AirTag form factor but has a built-in keyring holder. It offers up to 12 months of battery life and can then be charged via USB-C cable.

Finally, there is the Pebblebee Tracker Universal Tag with Find My integration. This offers an ultra-small form factor and comes with up to 8 months of battery life, including a USB-C port for charging.

Backpacks with Find My

While I generally recommend purchasing an independent Find My tracking device, there are backpacks on the market that are directly integrated with Find My. The main product currently available comes from the Swissdigital brand.
